Last night, Jennifer Hudson and Britney Spears helped celebrate the late and great Whitney Houston in the tribute concert, “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston” at Nokia Theater in downtown LA.

Bobbi Kristina Brown and adopted brother/alleged new fiance Nick Gordon attended the concert, as did Taraji P Henson, Usher and Halle Berry.

Hudson put on another performance, this one a bit more upbeat than February’s.  Hudson dressed in head-to-toe eighties garb and took to the aisles to perform “I’m Every Woman,” “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance WIth Somebody.”

The evening, hosted by LL Cool J, was an emotional one, according to Yahoo! Music.  Berry had a wobbly chin while opening the tribute, and  the camera cut to an emotional Brown who kept fanning herself to fight back tears while CeCe Winans performed.

A variety of interviews and performances by Houston were shown on the big screen, including her moving rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl XXV.

The tribute will air on CBS on November 16th @ 10pm ET.

  1. When I first heard what happened to Whitney, I thought about Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson. Together, the four of them inspired me to write this essay: http://bit.ly/Ml8I6U
