Jean Paul Gaultier’s designs have always been very avant-garde and represent high fashion from the early 1990s, and yesterday (January 25th), his Spring/Summer 2012 haute couture looks stayed true to the house’s mantra of eccentricity and French fashion.

Yeseterday’s runway show paid tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, with models wearing beehives, retro eyeliner and Winehouse’s signature mole.

Gaultier’s signature corsets were on full display, but he made sure to throw in a few gorgeous gowns for good measure (this is a couture show, after all).  Dita Von Teese, Beth Ditto, and French screen legend Catherine Deneuve sat front row while an a cappella chorus sang Winehouse’s hits.
