Javier Colon was named as the first winner of The Voice. The show has crowned Javier Colon who was mentored by Adam Levine. Javier received a $100,000 prize as well as a recording contract.
The singer burst into tears when his name was read out by host Carson Daly, beating runner-up Dia Frampton by just two per cent of the vote. The other finalists were Vicci Martinez and Beverly McClellan.
Blake Shelton’s protégé, Dia Frampton is placed second. Meanwhile, Adam has rushed to the stage to hug Javier. Blake applauded Dia after hearing the number of votes obtained.
Colon exclaimed thanking to all and said that he doesn’t even then where to begin other than to sat that the three women behind there are absolutely awesome. He added that he want to thank everybody at home who believed in him and voted for him and remembered his family support.
Besides this, Adam Levine had been pretty confident that his protégé would definitely win after watching his duet of “Landslide” with Stevie Nicks (watch the performance after the jump)on 29th June show. Adam said that he is pretty speechless and that was one of the most beautiful duets he has ever heard in his life. He quoted that he was one of his heroes and Colon really deserve to win this competition.
