Jane Austen Meets ‘Fight Club,’ Abe Lincoln Is The New Vampire Hunter

July 26th, 2010 // 1 Comment

It was bound to happen. The pop culture phenom at the moment is taking literary classics (or historical figures) and interjecting them with contemporary humor and anachronistic plots has moved from books to film, albeit through a delightful little Youtube video.

In fact, the movie version of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is expected to hit screens in 2011 with Natalie Portman. I’m sure Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will follow shortly. Check out that trailer from the book publisher’s website after the jump.

Dear America, this is the sign we’re getting dumber by the day.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter IS coming to big screens… Tim Burton, Timur Bekmabetov and Jim Lemley bought the rights to it way back in March. I wrote an article about it for one site I write for back then… there is no definite release date for the film yet.

Oh and the guy who wrote the book, Seth Grahame Smith, has been hired by Burton to redraft the Dark Shadows film (that is going to star Johnny Depp).

You guys should keep up on this sort of thing here… you need someone to do that for you? :)
