It Was Ellen’s Night at the Emmys

June 16th, 2007 // 2 Comments

Ellen DeGeneres won best talk show host for the fourth consecutive year, plus she took home the award for best talk show. There was also a first at this year’s Daytime Emmy’s, two soap operas tied for best dramatic series – “Guiding Light” and “The Young and the Restless.” Bob Barker, who retired from “The Price is Right” took home the award for best game show host.

In Ellen’s acceptance speech for best talk show host, she praised Rosie O’Donnell who was not in attendance at the award show.

When she won the award for best talk show host, beating O’Donnell and the other co-hosts of “The View,” DeGeneres said the prize really belonged to O’Donnell, whose outspokenness shook up the program before she left this spring after a fight with a co-host and a failure to reach a new contract.

“I liked what she did. This was the year she should have won. I wanted to acknowledge Rosie because she has done a lot. … I don’t know who should replace her but I don’t think it should be Paris Hilton. That would not work,” she said.

The full list of winners, plus tons of photos (Ellen DeGeneres, Portia di Rossi, Nadja Borlin, Elmo, Lisa Rinna, Tyra Banks, Austin Peck, Teri Columbino, Rachel Ray, Ty Treadway, Betty White, Amanda Pays, Corbin Bernsen, Dr. Phil, Eva La Rue, Heather Tom, Jeanne Cooper, Melody Thomas Scott) from the Daytime Emmy Red Carpet, are after the jump.

Maybe because it’s her 4th year winning, Ellen thought it didn’t matter what she wore. She looks like colonel saunders.

I thought she looked like the Colnole also ~ I kept waiting for her to pull out a bucket of legs and thighs. But I love Ellen ~ we can forgive her lack of fashion sense, she’s never cared about going with the norm attire. I’m happy she won. She is so much more uplifting and happy than Rosie. she’s more fun to watch than a bitter nasty woman who lives to create controversy.
