Is ‘Arrested Development’ On Its Way Back To Our TVs?

Yesterday (October 2nd) during The New Yorker Festival, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurtwitz announced that the critically-acclaimed series would be returning to television for a miniseries before coming to the big screen, according to TV Line.  Nine or ten episodes will be created, each focusing on a different character since everyone has moved on to new projects.

Deadline reports that Showtime and Netflix are going up against each other to run the episodes…that is, if this plan ever comes to fruition.  There have been talks of a movie version of Development for some time now, so talk is cheap despite the fact that it was tweeted yesterday: “News @NewYorkerFest: Arrested Development coming back for one more TV season before movie. #ArrestedDevelopment #tnyfest
