Next Wednesday is Oprah Winfrey‘s final show, which puts us in a glass case of emotion. Audience members packed Chicago’s United Center for a taping of the second and third-to-last shows, airing next Monday and Tuesday. Each two-hour special, billed as Surpise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular, includes appearances by Queen Latifah, Tom Cruise, Madonna, Beyonce, Halle Berry, Katie Holmes, Simon Cowell, Tom Hanks, Dakota Fanning, Jackie Evancho, Will Smith, and Usher.
Us Magazine was inside the arena, getting the scoop on what we can expect to see next week. A brave Maria Shriver came on stage with fellow Oprah bestie Gayle King to say a few kind words about her famous friend. Hours after her husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger confessed to fathering a child out of wedlock, Shriver told Oprah, “Over the years, you have shared that very generous spirit…you’ve believed in others, so they can believe in themselves.”
Madonna told Oprah, “It’s no secret that millions of people are inspired by Oprah. I am one of those people. Whenever I’m asking who my role models are, I always say ‘dead’ or ‘alive.’ The dead list is long, but the alive list has one name on it: Oprah.“
PS-each audience member was given a box of tissues, placed below their seats.
