President Barack Obama is taking his message to Hollywood. During a fundraising tour of Los Angeles, the President hosted a private breakfast meeting on Thursday with 25 young Hollywood actors.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the star-studded meeting held at the Beverly Hilton was part of the Obama re-election campaign’s “Young America Effort,” an initiative to generate turnout among younger voters — a demographic that was key in helping the President get elected in 2008.
Hollywood stars who attended the lunch included: The Avengers star Jeremy Renner, Star Trek‘s Zachary Quinto, Jessica Alba, Glee‘s Dianna Agron, Bryan Greenberg, One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush, actor-director Zach Braff, The Vampire Diaries hunk Ian Somerhalder, Southland star Ben McKenzie, musician-actor Jared Leto and (of course) former White House staffer and House star Kal Penn.
Many of the celebrities who attended the event tweeted from the event along with these pics.
“Maybe the only man I truly get nervous around,” Glee’s 26-year-old Agron. tweeted.
“Worth the early wake up call. Truly inspirational talking with Barack Obama today,” Greenberg, 34, agreed in his tweet.
Actress Alba, 31, shared a group shot of 25 stars and tweeted, “Got up bright and early to hear Barack Obama speak with an awesome group.”
Somerhalder added, “Totally surreal morning. Met up with some friends, had coffee with President Obama now tweeting. The 21st century… Let’s do this… Just spent my morning with this man talkn (talking) green energy, a better America & being a young American. Wow.”
