The Wolverine is still on track to be made, despite director Darren Aronofsky‘s decision to back out of the film due to personal reasons. Hugh Jackman, spotted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote Real Steel, talked about his plans to continue training for the role. In the film, Jackman’s X-Men character encounters samurai warriors during a visit to Japan.
Jackman has been fueling up on protein and working out like a fiend, according to Entertainment Weekly. The film is still a go, despite Aronofsky’s absence, and Jackman is still eager to start production (if only to end his chicken breast diet). The actor said, “So now we’re out looking for a director We were pretty much ready to go. The script is fantastic — the best we’ve ever had, which is why it attracted Darren in the first place. His personal situation precludes him from doing it now, and I feel for him. But now we need to find a director.”
