Don’t you just love embarrassing celebrity stories? In some ways they just make you feel better about your own life. Well Hugh Jackman has one embarrassing that really takes the cake. Back when he was a theatre actor in Melbourne, Australia, Hugh had an onstage urination incident as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.
According to US Weekly, the Aussie actor told Rachel Ray, “The first show I ever did, singing and dancing, was Beauty and the Beast. I was playing Gaston. Gaston has red tights, knee high boots, and it’s very physical. I had headaches everyday for two months. I went to an astropath [psychic] and he said ‘Well, you’re dehydrated.’ So of course [following his advice] I had four liters of water.” I just have a picture in my head right now of Hugh being all sexy and shirtless pouring water on himself.
So when did the urination happen? “I go down to the stage, getting ready for my first number…and I’m like I really need to go again. [The routine is] the most cardiovascular song I’ve ever done: literally I’m picking up Belle and as I pick her up, I stopped singing and right in that moment I realized the muscles you need to release in order to sing are the ones you do not want to release if you need to go.” So Hugh grabbed Belle, he’s not singing and he lets go down there. Thank god he didn’t do that in the behind the scenes clips from Real Steel.
Ouch. That’s gotta suck. I hate those pees. The ones that are like, “Omg, if I don’t go right now I will go in my pants and omg I can’t even make it to the bathroom.” Ever had anything that embarrassing happen to you? Tell us your story in the comments!
