‘Hope For Haiti’ – The Performances

January 23rd, 2010 // 1 Comment

Last night the Hope for Haiti telethon raised more than $30 million. “The Haitian people need our help,” said actor George Clooney, who helped organize the telecast. “They need to know that they are not alone. They need to know that we still care.”

During the show, Beyonce sang “Halo,” accompanied on the piano by Chris Martin. She changed the lyrics, and sang “Haiti we can see your halo, we pray you won’t fade away”.

Jay Z debuted a new song, “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)” with U2‘s Bono and The Edge and Rihanna.

Other moving performances were given by Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris, Jennifer Hudson, Madonna, Mary J. Blige and Christina Augilera. Watch those performances after the jump.
