“Honorary Irishwoman” Michelle Williams Receives The Oscar Wilde Award

Last night (February 23rd) Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams was honored with Oscar Wilde award at the 7th Annual ‘Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film’ Pre-Academy Awards Event at Bad Robot in Santa Monica.

The My Week With Marilyn star humbly accepted the award, which was created by the US-Ireland Alliance, according to the BBC.  “I consider it [the award] is from a land and from a people who are known for poetry, for literature and lore, for myth and legend,” Williams said to the audience, which included Colin Farrell, Dana Delany, Jon Cho, Zachary Quinto, Jason O’Mara, and Paige Turco.

“Being in a business that is about story-telling, I’m honoured to be acknowledged by the original story-tellers.”
