Hollywood Courtroom Watch: Renee Zellwegger Claims Fraud

September 16th, 2005 // 4 Comments

Mmm. Fraud. What could she mean by that? I’ll go with, her soon to be non-husband, is really a woman. Tim McGraw seems to think there may be another reason for the split. “I thought he was gay for the longest time!” Although, Renee is claiming that the use of fraud is just a legal term. She’s says, “I would personally be very grateful for your support in refraining from drawing derogatory, hurtful, sensationalized or untrue conclusions,” she said. “We hope to experience this transition as privately as possible.”

In court papers filed Wednesday, Zellweger listed “fraud” as the reason for the breakup but did not elaborate. A phone call to her attorney was not immediately returned, nor was a call to Gleason later in the day regarding the fraud claim.

While Cameron Diaz hasn’t married her future ex-husband Justin Timberlake, she can sleep a tad easier knowing that her blackmailer will be going to prison.

A Los Angeles photographer who was convicted of trying to sell topless pictures of actress Cameron Diaz after forging her signature on a contract was sentenced on Thursday to nearly four years in prison.

John Rutter, who prosecutors accused of trying to blackmail Diaz for $3 million over the steamy, bondage-themed photos taken before she was famous, was found guilty in July of attempted grand theft, forgery and perjury. The judge sentenced him to three years and eight months in prison.

While Cameron may be resting easy, Tom Sizemore has been ordered to remain in rehab for 30 more days. Let’s hope that treatment sticks this time, so he won’t be a drugged up father to his 6-week-old twin boys.

Tom Sizemore was ordered Thursday to remain in a live-in drug rehabilitation program for another 30 days, but he can leave to work and attend charity events.

“This next month should prove to us that you’re going to stay sober — clean and sober — and work at the same time,” Superior Court Judge Paula Adele Mabrey said. Based on a report from his doctor, it appears that “Mr. Sizemore has taken his treatment seriously,” the judge said.

I love it when celebrities who have done everything possible to hawk their images in as favorable a light as possible are so quick to trot out the “please respect our privacy….etc.” Blech! I think the fraud was she assumed he had some degree of fame or talent

Read the wikipedia entry on annulment, it’s quite interesting
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annulment

    for the fraud aspect:

“Fraud” generally means the intentional deception of the Plaintiff by the Defendant in order to induce the Plaintiff to marry. The misrepresentation must be substantial in nature, and the Plaintiff’s consent to the marriage predicated on the Defendant’s statement. The perpetration of the fraud (prior to the marriage), and the discovery of the fraud (subsequent to the marriage) must be proven by corroboration of a witness or other external proof, even if the Defendant admits guilt (DRL §144).

So basically she’s saying he showed himself to be a different man than he really was which coincides with the reports of him being an oppressive domination chauvinist.

  3. Today the anullment, tomorrow the rumors of Renee Zellweger’s ex-husband with another man. I can forsee it already.
