Hollywood And Broadway Celebrate ‘A Fine Romance’

Movies and musicals go together like bread and butter, and in celebration of the harmonious (literally) relationship between the two, Hugh Jackman hosted “A Fine Romance” which benefited the fifth annual Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) today. The movie-musical-muscly-man has for the past five years truly represented the incestuous relationship between the two mediums.

The evening included performances from movies that became Broadway
musicals and Broadway musicals that became movies, such as Evita, Hairspray, Mamma Mia! and South Pacific. Hmm, perhaps Hollywood should take note of the fact that none of the (shiteous) movies from the past 5 years that butchered the
form wer
e included (Nine, here’s looking at you!)

All the stars came out, along the likes of  Melina Kanakaredes, Joel Grey, James Marsden, Adam Shankman, Aaron Tvelt, Cheyenne Jackson and Hector Elizondo, many of whom performed that night.
