Prince Charles, Prince of Wales stopped for a chat with Paddington Bear in front of Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria, England. Today (April 3rd) the heir to the British throne and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall helped mark the 750th anniversary of Cumbria’s market charter, according to the UK’s News & Star.
At the mansion, Charles was on hand to celebrate the eighth international Dalemain Marmalade festival and awards. There, he tasted entries and met with volunteers.
Did you know that Paddington lived with his aunt in Peru before she shipped him off to London (as a stowaway no less. She was going into a retired bear home).
Mr. and Mrs. Brown found him at Paddington Station, with a tag around his neck that read, “Please look after the bear, thank you.” They took him home to Windsor Gardens in London to live with them, their two children and their housekeeper, Mrs. Bird.
