Heidi Montag And Spencer Pratt Show Off Their Favorite Thing About America [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

When a UK documentary about Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag opens with “Hello British,” you know you’re in for something special.

According to the Huffington Post, England’s Channel 5 followed the Pratts around their (or his parents’) Santa Barbara home for a one-hour special titled, Speidi: Scandal, Secrets & Surgery!

The Celebrity Big Brother contestants, who lost the winning prize to X-Factor’s Rylan Clark, proudly showed off their vast collection of guns.  Their timing is both impeccable and appropriate, wouldn’t you say?

“I want to share something with you that I know, unfortunately, you cannot possess in your amazing country,” Pratt told the cameras. “So, I will let you have a glimpse at the amazing laws of America.”

After waxing the virtues of guns on this side of the Atlantic, Montag felt it important to speak her mind on gun control.

“I’d like to say something about guns as well. I think it is one of the greatest rights to be an American. I personally didn’t feel safe especially with crazed fans out there and stalkers,” Montag said while holding a giant gun.  “If somebody broke into our home, I think this is the only thing that would actually save my life.”

Not only did this scene leave Speidi’s fellow Americans shaking their heads in disgust, it pissed off Brighton University’s professor of criminology and public policy Peter Squire.

“With the recent shooting deaths of model Reeva Steenkamp and country singer Mindy McCready, the dangers of keeping guns at home are all too obvious,” Squire told the paper.  “Let’s face it, neither of them were near the front of the queue when brains, decorum or thinking skills were being handed out.”

Back in July 2008, Pratt and Montag proudly showed off their shooting skills at a firing range near LAX.  Naturally, they brought their own personal arsenal of firearms along
