Heidi Klum was the Honorary Ambassador for the Turn on the Lights! Walk for Kids event which combined a 5K walk and a party.
Also helping out at the event were Melanie Griffith, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jennifer Grey and Crystal Bowersox. They used their celebrity to help the hospital continue their innovative work in pediatric healthcare.
On Saturday more than 3,000 revelers enjoyed a fun-filled street party and dazzling lighting ceremony when Children’s Hospital Los Angeles turned on the lights in its new state-of-the-art hospital for the first time. The new Children’s Hospital Los Angeles building will formally open to patients on July 10.
The event helped raise more than $700,000 in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Heidi Klum said of the event:
“Everyone had so much fun today. I’m thrilled to be part of the Walk for Kids and am proud to support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The money we raised today will certainly make a tremendous difference in the lives of the children cared for by the hospital.”
Such a great cause!
