Last night at the Country Music Awards, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert were the night’s big winners. But everyone really was wondering about Gwyneth Paltrow and her debut live performance of her song “Country Strong,” the title cut from the film of the same name that she stars in. And her performance was great!
Paltrow said on the red carpet that in order to muster the courage to perform, she visited a bar before the show and had a pint of Guinness. Atta girl…Watch her performance after the jump!
But Taylor Swift also gave a (insert your own adjective – because mine won’t be nice) performance of her song “Back To December,” thought to be about her relationship with Taylor Lautner. But at the end she mouths a big old “WHAT!?” that her camp is saying was her reaction to the audience’s love. Uh-huh. Many think it was something like this. But you be the judge:
Birthday girl Miranda Lambert had a great night, winning top female vocalist and album of the year for Revolution, with her fiance Blake Shelton winning male vocalist of the year.
Brad Paisley won the evening’s top honor of entertainer of the year and got choked up during his speech, recognizing his late grandfather and thanked his wife and paid tribute to his fans.
The night’s performances also included Reba McEntire‘s cover of Beyonce‘s “If I Were A Boy,” which you can listen to here.
