We rarely see Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin‘s children, but yesterday we caught Paltrow and Apple Martin‘s adorable mother-daughter outing in West Hollywood. Paltrow, in a gorgeous blue sequined jacket and white jeans, held Apple’s hand as they left Maxfield.
According to The Avengers director Joss Whedon, Paltrow almost didn’t make the cut. ”You need to separate the characters from their support systems in order to create the isolation you need for a team,” Whedon said at the film’s press junket (via the Los Angeles Times). Initially, Whedon did not want to including supporting characters from the films that make up this superhero supermovie.
In fact, it was Paltrow’s Iron Man co-star, Robert Downey Jr. who insisted Paltrow be included in the film. ”But Pepper, this was really Robert’s thing. He pushed hard … ,” Whedon explained. “He really thought Gwyneth would bring something great to the table, and we all thought so as well, but he was the one who convinced her to come and do it.”
