We Know You Fell Asleep During The Golden Globes, So Here’s Who Won

January 14th, 2008 // 10 Comments

Imagine you work your ass off in Hollywood with bit parts on “Two And A Half Men”, several Lifetime movies, and that show with James Belushi and then you get cast in a movie and it ends up being a huge hit and garnering tons of critical acclaim? And the buzz slowly grows and somehow, as if your fondest wish has been granted, you get nominated for a Golden Globe? And you buy a hot dress off the rack, and tell your whole family, and your Mom sends e-mails to everyone she knows, and your entire hometown tunes in? And you’re filled with the shuddery excitement that comes with the fulfillment of a dream? And then because of a writer’s strike, there’s no ceremony? And it’s jus a press conference? with no celebrities? That would suck. But it was nice and short. Keep reading for the full winner’s list.

Wah we missed another peek at Johnny Depp.. but pfft to the rest of the nominess, Worst choice Attonement and Cate Blanchett, I’m Not There although ‘Michael Clayton’ nominated but not winning is certainly a special trigger event.. Clooney must be dying for his more probable shot at the Oscar.. har har. Can’t go through that writers’ picket line Commie Liberal boy after all your whining and bravo support to them huh?.. I bet he is desperately working round the clock behind the scenes to make a settlement happen in time.

  2. Your Mama

The strike goes on and the world yawns…

Actually, it was the best GG telecast I’ve ever watched and the first one I made it all the way through. I hope they do it this way from now on. It was short, succinct and smug-free, everything the SAG awards won’t be.

I did miss making fun of all the shitty outfits though but there will be plenty more awards shows down the road.

  3. Persistent Cat

    Yay Tina Fey!!!!!!!!!!

  4. rob

Thank heavens we were all spared. Imagine what the acceptance speeches would’ve been like with every recipient sucking up to the writers guild.

Besides, this way we didn’t have to put up with three hours of the way overrated Queen Latifah.

  5. Interloper

Yay for “Extras” and Duchovny for “Californication”. It’s two more than I usually agree with!

  6. anonymous

I would love to see the Oscars and the Grammy done this way. I’m sick and tired of seeing these phony, pretentious emotionally needy celebs.

Best 5 minutes I’ve spent watching tv.
