Many familiar faces took to the stage at this year’s Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year awards. Celebrity presenters at Carnegie Hall in New York City included movie star couple, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, former President Bill Clinton, Katie Couric and three Beatle wives.
Fashion designer and daughter of Beatle Paul McCartney, Stella McCartney, received her award when it was presented to her by John Lennon‘s widow, Yoko Ono; George Harrison‘s widow; Olivia Harrison and Ringo Starr‘s wife, Barbara Starkey.
Emmy award-winning talk show host, Tyra Banks, presented tennis player, Serena Williams, with her award and encouraged the women in the crowd, “You can do whatever you want to do. The most important belief is self-belief.”
Of course, the best line was uttered by comedian Amy Poehler, who addressed the female contingent of the audience by advising, “Girls, if boys say something that’s not funny, you don’t have to laugh.”
