Naked photographs (the arty kind) of supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss will be among the items auctioned off in April at Christie’s New York auction house. The shots of Gisele are described as “au natural with bronzed skin and tousled locks”. Excuse me while I retain my composure. Any photographs of Gisele, bronzed or not, have to be better than the ones we featured yesterday. The Bundchen portrait by photographer Irving Penn is expected to go for $40,000, as well as the one of Kate Moss.
These two shots are among the entire collection being auctioned off by collector Gert Elfering. Elfering’s collection is expected to go in excess of 2 million! Maybe he had some credit cards to pay off. Other photographs in his collection include works by Helmut Newton, Avedon, Man Ray, Robert Mapplethorpe, Guy Bourdin, Cindy Sherman, and Diane Arbus. Elfering is considered to be THE collector of 20th century ohotography.
Have any of you seen the work of Diane Arbus? She shot circus freaks and naked old people in a sorta chilling manner. I think I want one. I want a Diane Arbus now, Daddy!
More photos of a clothed Gisele Bundchen are after the jump.
