I’ve never really paid much mind to Westboro Baptist Church, much like I don’t pay much mind to the current state of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship: It’s just not worth it.

However, I came across a wonderful initiative today that made me smile.  Unfortunately, I had to do a little research for this story, which led me to WBC’s website.

Are they for real?  How old are we?

I shant dignify their presence with a link, but I will say that their hate parade has met a force of good with which to contend.

Aaron Jackson of Planting Peace bought a house across the street from Westboro Baptist Church, which will be used as a gay rights center, according to The New Civil Rights Movement

For too long, the Westboro Baptist Church has been targeting the LGBTQ community with messages of hate and discrimination. Often, protesting American soldiers’ funerals and organizations that support equality. This faction preaches extremism in our communities and directly targets our youth. To combat their messages of hate and to support equality and anti-bullying initiatives in schools and in our community, Planting Peace has established the Equality House in Topeka, KS.

Located directly across from the Westboro Baptist Church, the House is a symbol of equality, peace, and positive change. The house, which is painted the colors of the Pride flag, will serve as the resource center for all Planting Peace equality and anti-bullying initiatives and will stand as a visual reminder of our commitment, as global citizens, to equality for all.

So, in addition to the FAG MARRIAGE DOOMS NATIONS signs, you’ll see a shining beacon of equality, love, and good old-fashioned kindess.  Plus, the colors really perk up a dreary winter day.
