What part of “keep your mouth shut” don’t you understand, Tyrion?

In the latest episode of HBO’s Game Of Thrones, Peter Dinklage put on one of his best performances as Tyrion, who stands trial for a murder he didn’t commit.

And then there is Stannis Baratheon, who is trying to overthrow the crown and claim his rightful place as heir.

Davos and Stannis go to Braavos to talk to the Iron Bank. They want to get funded to take down the Lannisters who owe the bank oodles of cash. The bank isn’t so sure of Stannis’ war and they deny him for the time being.

Yara Greyjoy attempted to save her brother Theon from Dreadfort Castle, but Ramsay Snow let loose his insane hounds before she could convince her poor brother that he is in fact, Theon and not Reek. Later on, Ramsay gives Reek a bath as a reward for his loyalty and asks him to pretend to be someone else so that the Boltons can take over a castle. He wants him to be Theon Greyjoy, which thoroughly jacks with Reek’s mind even more.

Khaleesi rules Meereen and attempts to be a righteous queen, but finds out that being a ruler is complicated, boring, and more difficult than she imagined. One of the Masters’ sons asks to take his father off of the crucifix and give him a proper burial. At first Khaleesi refuses because the Masters crucified little children, but after hearing the son’s pleas she gives in.

Tyrion’s trial has three judges, his father Tywin, Margaery Tyrell’s father, and Prince Oberyn. During an intermission Jaime pleads with his father Tywin to allow Tyrion to live and in exchange he will leave the Kings Guard and move to Casterly Rock, take a wife, and continue the Lannister legacy. His father agrees and Jaime tells Tyrion to keep it together and stop having outbursts.

Cersei offers herself, Varys, and Tyrion’s true love Shae as witnesses against him. Because Tyrion scorned Shae and lied to her in order to get her to leave King’s Landing and stay safe, she assumes he is awful and gives the most painful testimony against him. Tyrion is so pained by this obvious attack from his one true love, something clearly instigated by his evil sister Cersei, that he tells the crowd that even though he didn’t kill King Joffrey, he wishes that he had and that he would gladly poison all of them. Then he demands that his fate be decided upon by the Gods in a trial by combat! Who will be named his champion?
