Everyone together now: “Awwww…..”
It seems that former President George W. Bush says one of the “most disgusting” moments in his presidency took place when Kanye West openly called him out for not caring about black people during a Concert for Hurrican Katrina Relief in 2005 (watch the video after the jump!). West was spotted last night attending the ACE awards where he won Stylemaker of the Year.
In a new interview with Matt Lauer, Bush (now promoting his new book) says though he didn’t watch the telecast, he still heard what West said.
“He called me a racist,” Bush tells Lauer. ”And I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now,” Bush goes on. “It’s one thing to say, ‘I don’t appreciate the way he’s handled his business.’ It’s another thing to say, ‘This man’s a racist.’ I resent it, it’s not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency.”
Oh, George, there were SO many disgusting moments in your presidency…I feel the whole Kanye thing was a big relief from the fact that the country figured out we went to war for no reason in a place that didn’t attack us. So there’s that.
