It appears that Her Majesty is making plans to officially hand over Anmer Hall in Norfolk to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they prepare for the birth of their first child.
Though their home base will officially be apartment 1A at Kensington Palace (still under construction), Will and Kate will certainly make use of a country home.
“The house has been earmarked for William and Kate,” a source on the estate told the National Post.
Back in June, another source told the Daily Mail that the Duke was especially excited, as he spent his childhood growing up on his grandmother’s estate.
“He’s a country boy and loves Norfolk, just like his father and his grandparents. It’s a lovely, peaceful place and William adores it.”
Not much has been reported on the logistics of the cottage, located two miles from the Sandringham home that’s been in the Queen’s family since 1862.
“Dear old Sandringham, the place I love better than anywhere in the world,” King George V said of his retreat.
