Fashion Retrospective: Sarah Jessica Parker (2000 – 2013)

May 12th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

Emerging onto the scene in her Carrie Bradshaw days on the pop culture phenomenon Sex and the City; has transformed actress Sarah Jessica Parker as a style icon both on and off the silver screen.

Bradshaw once famously gushed “I like my money right where I can see it… hanging in my closet”  And I have a feeling that Ms.Parker has a lustful walk-in closet that we would all like to take a peek inside.

Let’s  jump into the fashion time machine and retrospect over her most remarkable fashion statements. So hold onto your pink tutu, cause we’re gonna take a ride.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER (SEPTEMBER 10, 2000): Sarah had fashion chops, even long before the HBO hit series. Parker demanded attention when she arrived at the 52nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Parker channeled old Hollywood glamour in the feathery pale pink Oscar de la Renta gown.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER (MAY 8, 2013):  Sarah went vintage vixen at the Tate Americas Foundation Artists Dinner in New York City. Sarah opted for a lovely, lavender Alexandra New York vintage floral dress. In true SJP fashion, Parker was dipped in accessories, wearing Fred Leighton earrings, a Repossi turquoise ring, and a Fendi ring and cuff.

Parker has always pushed us to expand our style boundaries, back when she attended the London premiere of Sex and the City 2, looking like a high fashion queen in a black strapless Alexander McQueen dress and Philip Treacy hat adorned with Swarovski crystals. Can I get on the waiting list for one of those hats/ headpieces? I’m serious.

We honor the style maven for teaching us by example, how to clash our patterns and most importantly to wear heels with everything. (You get extra points if you rock Manolo Blahniks)
