All the hard work that Eva Longoria has done with her pet charity project, Padres Contre El Cancer, has earned the Desperate Housewives actress the title of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Philanthropist of the Year award.
To receive her award, handed to her by Los Angeles mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, Eva wore a bright, red, silk, asymmetrical gown that had one sleeve that looked like a bunch of flowers trailing up her arm.
According to the CEO of Padres, Elvia Barboa, the title is accurate. Barboa tells THR, “People ask me if she’s just a figurehead. In no way is she that…Eva fell in love with our mission. She’s not doing this for fame. She’s doing it because she’s compassionate.”
Eva’s good buddy, Mario Lopez, was also on hand to support Eva, as well as her castmate, Dana Delaney. Sheryl Crow, Holly Robinson Peete and Kate Beckinsale also turned up to the event, looking sleek and ready to celebrate.
