Emma Watson appeared on Nick Grimshaw‘s BBC Radio 1 show this morning (September 26th) in London to promote The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Watson never had to deal with as many kissing scenes in Harry Potter as she did in Perks, which made for some very awkward screening moments.
“It’s really funny because when I watch the film back, there are a few things I can’t watch. I can’t watch the Rocky Horror dancing scene, and I can’t watch the kissing scene,” Watson explained of the scene in which she plays tribute to Susan Sarandon‘s character.
“This film really pushed me out of my comfort zone,” the British starlet added, according to the Daily Mail. ”I told the director that I have just come from playing Hermione Granger and you are expecting me to dance and putting me in corsets, and it’s difficult.”
The trickiest part for Watson may have been conquering an American accent. ”I had help from my college friends with the accent but I eally lost sleep over it and was very concerned about making sure the American accent was peachy,” Watson told Grimshaw. ”I worked with a voice coach too.”
Grimshaw asked Watson about the one food item she would eat for the rest of her life: “It would have to be the Heinz baked beans – the ones with the pork sausages. And toast. So I guess it would be two items,” Watson answered.
I threw up a little in my mouth at the mention of this canned treat, but to each her own.
Perks will hold its London premiere tonight.
