We still have a week and a half to wait for the Game of Thrones season three premiere, but the show’s cast got to celebrate early on Monday night. The premiere party at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles hosted the Game of Thrones stars for the event.
Among the hundreds of screaming fans who lined up along Hollywood Boulevard to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars were fellow television hot shots showing their support. Kevin McHale from Glee sported a Game of Thrones T-shirt. Director Jay Roach also made an appearance, saying, “It’s the Lord of the Rings for cable TV. The epic range of light and darkness is on that level,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Even though Jason Momoa was killed off in the first season, he was back on the red-carpet for the premiere of the third season.
As for the forthcoming season, “This is the season we’ve been waiting for,” says executive producer Dan Weiss of the show based on George R.R. Martin‘s fantasy novels about noble families warring and wooing to win the seven kingdoms of Westeros. “This is where our favorite events from the book happen. There’s enormous shock and surprise.”
Bombshells drop on all the major Houses: Targaryen, Lannister and Stark. “There are moments characters should see coming but don’t,” exec producer David Benioff says. “They go from powerful to powerless.” And, for some players, from alive to dead.
Who else is super pumped up for the new season of Game of Thrones?
