After 5 good years of scandals, hook ups, and of course, gossiping, Gossip Girl will finally be coming to an end in a few short months. After the finale, the cast members, such as Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, and Michelle Trachtenberg (to name a few) will mot likely be struck with a feeling of nostalgia and a need to reflect. The first of the cast to reflect is Ed Westwick, who spoke with Us Weekly about some of the show’s superlatives.
Some of Westwick’s fondest memories from the show include the makeup room that the cast shared, and the chance to live in New York for the 5-year-long job of a lifetime. It’s no wonder Westwick speaks fondly about his stint as Chuck Bass. The Gossip Girl gig has opened plenty of doors for the cast, including successful movie careers for most of the cast including Westwick, who was subsequently cast in movies such as J. Edgar and 2013′s Romeo and Juliet, among others. Not to mention a nice sum of awards for the show and individuals in the cast.
The set of Gossip Girl is mostly located in decadent buildings in Upper East Side New York City, stocked full of awesome props to sneak away with, especially in the last stretch of filming happening now. Westwick’s choice prop from the show to keep for himself? No, not a coat or a lamp. None other than his beautiful co-star Blake Lively herself! We’ll have to see how that goes. A conversation with Ryan Reynolds may pose a problem with that plan.
As far as the future, Westwick plans to spend some time in his native country, England and naturally catch up with everyone’s old friend, The Queen. Before he starts press for Romeo and Juliet, that is!
But Gossip Girl fans, all hope is not lost! Not yet at least. The show still has a while before the finale. In fact, the cast was spotted filming some scenes in New York, including what appeared to be a wedding scene between Meester’s character, Blair Waldorf, and Westwick’s.
