Duchess Kate Gets Advice From Prince Philip
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has a supporter in Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. William’s 90-year-old grandfather has taken an interest in making sure Catherine adjusts to life as a royal by offering tips on fitness and decorating. After watching Sarah, Duchess of York and Diana, Princess of Wales fall out with “The Firm,” it seems Philip wants his new granddaughter-in-law to be happy and well-adjusted as a Mountbatten-Windsor.
The Duke offered William and Catherine tips on how to decorate their apartment at Kensington Palace, by suggesting that they use natural woods and Welsh slate. “His designs are very practical, much more practical than the sometimes fanciful ideas of top designers. His ideas have been well received by William and Kate,” reports the news outlet.
“Kate is really touched. It’s a sign that senior royals are keen to make sure new members fit in,” a source said. “Prince Philip wanted to make sure the pressures weren’t getting to her. He’s even been sharing tips about his exercise routine with Kate. He is 90, but still tries to keep fit.”
While Buckingham Palace refuses to comment on the private lives of the royal family, a palace sources says that the best advice comes from the royals themselves, who want to give Kate the best advice to help get her settled.
