Kate Middleton looked super stylish today in a coat dress from Orla Kiely and brown Aquatalia boots during her visit to Rose Hill Primary School. The visit is in association with the charity Art Room who work with children to increase self-confidence and self-esteem.

While Catherine’s husband Prince William is on a six week deployment in the Falklands, the Duchess has had to go it alone in recent weeks when it comes to public engagements.

She spent 10 minutes chatting to children who lined her route to Rose Hill Primary School in one of the city’s poorest areas before heading inside to see the charity’s work in action.

Kate is a keen art-lover having studied art history at university. Today she got the chance to practice her skills with children at Rose Hill Primary School in Oxford, working on an ‘Owl and the Pussycat’ mural. The students made her an apron for her with the name “Miss Catherine” on it.

Juli Beattie, the founder and director of The Art Room, said the charity had been “absolutely overwhelmed” by the Duchess’s decision to support what Ms Beattie described as “one of the smallest charities in the country.”

She said: “The Duchess is a highly-intelligent young woman who wants to make a difference. We wrote a letter asking for her support, but she had already done her own research into art therapy before that.”
