TRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Sutton, Surrey, UK today (September 29th) to open the new Oak Centre for Children and Young People at The Royal Marsden Hospital. William had gotten no sleep prior to the engagement, as he completed a 24-hour RAF shift that started yesterday. Still, the Duke looked like his usual cheery self as he met the Duchess, who traveled from London with palace staff to meet up with her hubby. You simply couldn’t tell that he’d been up all night! Catherine paired a $700 Amanda Wakeley dress with her trusty LK Bennett Sledge heels and Natalie clutch, according to What Kate Wore.
This is an especially poignant event for William, who is president of the hospital. Diana, Princess Of Wales made her first solo public appearance in 1982 at this very hospital, according to the Daily Mail. Catherine was presented with a bouquet 12-year-old cancer patient Alice Marples, who interviewed William a few years ago.
Twitter was abuzz with Catherine followers, tweeting about what she wore and (of course) how beautiful she looked. Kate was spotted at Topshop near her Kensington Palace home earlier this week picking up a few fashionably inexpensive pieces. Witnesses at the location told People that Catherine “was really chilled out despite some customers in the queue behind her saying, ‘Oh my God it’s her’ and pointing – she didn’t seem fazed by it all and she was really sweet.”
