Crowds of cheering royal subjects got the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK off to a rousing start as Leicester had the honor of being the first city to welcome Her Majesty and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Accompanied by Kate Middleton and Prince Philip, the Queen attended a fashion parade at De Montfort University where she enjoyed a display of music, dance troupes and costumes.
The Leicester visit was Prince Philip’s first major public engagement since undergoing minor heart surgery in December.
Kate’s wore a blue skirt dress and jacket by LK Bennett and hat for the occasion. The LK Bennett Jude peplum jacket (in deep teal) is currently on sale on the brand’s website.
Her wool dress is also LK Bennett. It’s the Davina in midnight. Buy it here before it sells out.
According to the palace schedule released in advance, the royals were headed to DeMontfort University in Leicester where they are to watch dance performances by students celebrating the city’s diversity, and the queen and Catherine, as she is now known, are to see a fashion show by students.
Even better, the duchess gets a new pair of shoes: Six fashion students at De Montfort were asked to design a shoe for her and she will pick her favorite today.
