Good shows are hard to come by, and Downton Abbey fans in the states are more than willing to wait the extra four months to learn the fate of their favorite characters (well, they may have cheated via interweb streaming, but nonetheless…). Some of the cast members enjoyed a little downtime on the Subway in New York City and checking out a basketball game as well.

Last night, Ralph Lauren and Vanity Fair‘s Graydon Carter hosted a evening with the cast and producers in New York City.  Joanne Froggatt (Anna) stood out in a fuchsia frock from Ralph Lauren collection, while Michelle Dockery opted for a one-shoulder leather number, also by the designer.

On Friday, the stars promoted season three’s premiere at a party hosted by The Hollywood Reporter in LA. Rob James-Collier, noted one of the magazine’s writers, “seemed to be making a point of distancing himself from his polished, conniving, gay character Thomas.

“He looked decidedly more metrosexual Silver Lake than pre-Edwardian Yorkshire in a plaid shirt, khakis and Chuck Taylors. He mentioned his wife several times and also pointed out, in an ironically grandiose tone, that he was wearing a Ralph Lauren cardigan. ‘Good people wear cardigans,’ he joked during the panel discussion.”

Oh, Thomas.  Do behave yourself.

Talk then turned to American television, and someone brought up that Two and A Half Men‘s Angus T. Jones makes $300,000 per episode.

Froggatt let out a sigh and answered “no comment” when asked if Downton’s salary was comparable.
