More than 50 dogs of different breeds came together on the San Diego shore for the 7th annual dog surfing competition, known officially as the Loews Dog Surfing Competition at Dunes Park Beach in Imperial Beach, CA. Hundreds of people attended the event.
The dogs competed in ten minute heats and were scored on their best two waves. The heats came in three size categories: small dogs, large dogs and tandem dogs. MSN Now reports the heats include longest ride, best tandem ride and first father-daughter-dog ride.
According to the judges, they looked for confidence of the competitors, long wave ride and “sense of fashion.”
