DJ AM’s Recent Breakup With Hayley Wood And Post-Traumatic Stress

August 29th, 2009 // 6 Comments

The tragic death of DJ AM came at the end of a couple of rough weeks for Adam Goldstein.

Things on the surface seemed to be fine, he threw out the first pitch at the Mets game last Sunday, Aug. 23th and hung out with friends earlier in the week. However, his breakup with girlfriend Hayley Wood, left him distraught.

A source told People, “She ended it, and he didn’t want it to end. The breakup hurt him. He hadn’t been in a good place lately. For the past week, he wasn’t really around, he was keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off,” says the source.

Also, Goldstein was apparently having a very hard time dealing with post-traumatic stress from the plane crash he survived in September of last year.

I can’t even imagine. Rest in peace.

Really?? I’m sorry but given the fact that he was given the chance to LIVE!!! after the plane crash and make something good of his life…THIS IS HOW HE TREATS LIFE!!! I’m beyond disgusted. Why is it always the people who have everything that have little respect for what they have or are given!! I feel very sorry for his family, to go through another tradegy-so not fair to them.

I am tired of people saying that DJ AM wasted his second chance on life. The guy was struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and was going through a rough time. PTSD is not pretty! I love how people throw out all of these insults and opinions, yet they have probably never gone through a plane crash or something as horryifying as Adam had. I feel terribly sad over his loss. He was going through so much!

“…struggling with Post traumatic Stress Disorder”.

Were you his doctor or something, Jennifer? He seemed to have lived normal life, worked as dj like he did before the accident. If he was having mental problems why not go and get theraphy? Should have been possible with his money.

People always making excuses for druggies. Just how many drug addicted celebs have died in the past years? Must be a lot. So sad.

When it’s all said and done, none of us truly knew what he was going through or why he ended up in that position. What I do know is that someone suffering with any mental ailment can lead a life that appears completely normal to most while they feel like everything is bursting at the seams inside. Nobody should be making excuses for someone using drugs, however, nobody should be judging that person either. I’m sure he was an amazing person who was struggling and didn’t know how to overcome it. We all have moments of weakness in some aspect of our life at one point or another…who are we to judge or talk poorly of any human being?

WTF??? How easy it is for us to judge others when we have NO IDEA what they’re dealing with. Disgusting. God Bless AM and loved ones.

Nobody is making excuses. Would you say that if we were talking about a soldier that had PTSD? Probably not. And just because he “seemed” fine doesn’t mean he was. Until you experience dealing with a loved one that has addiction, you don’t know shit. And if you are, and that person dies from their illness, imagine how you will feel then. Will you say “Fuck them, they were a drug addict”? Probably not.
