Courtney Cox Gets ‘Dirt’y Again

February 29th, 2008 // 8 Comments

Well, a series renewal is making someone smug! Here’s Courtney Cox at the premiere for the second season of her show “Dirt” on FX. Court not only stars in the show, she’s the executive producer. She stars as Lucy Spiller, editor of a gossip rag. This season the show will continue to feature stories ripped right from the tabloids, thinly disguising the sordid lives of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Alec Baldwin. I saw one episode last season and I wasn’t impressed but first seasons can be rough. Courtney says that she sorta/kinda sees the point of view of the tabs now: “It doesn’t mean that I agree with it all. I definitely don’t agree with the obsession on certain celebrities. I understand the fascination. But when it gets obsessive, I think it gets dangerous. So I haven’t changed my view, but definitely I’ve learned all sides of it, for sure.” And in even happier news, rejoice, I will be recapping this season starting next week! Now will someone e-mail me and fill my ass in. All I know is that she’s a bitch and runs a magazine. Is anything else important?

Okay at the end of last season Courtney’s character was stabbed but she obviously lives and the other kind of “main” character is this schizophrenic photographer. Its a very weird relationship.

  2. Enzo

I believe you’re referring to Don, who is awesome! He’s very “quirky” and funny, but also very caring, and he’s always there for Lucy. I sorta think of him as a brother to her, and their relationship is one of the reasons I watch because it’s so interesting to see them work together. I can’t wait til Sunday’s premiere!

I really like this show! I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen to Holt and Lucy :-)

  6. Enid

I watched two or three episodes last year, just to see if I could get into it.

I think the show sucks. It comes across, to me, like a cable show high school seniors would put on if their teachers let them.

    Waste of time.

Lucy found her father hanging in his study when she was pretty young and he left her a note saying that she would understand that he did it for her. so she has this ‘daddy trauma’ thing going on. She has a brother who is gay. he isnt staying in touch with her because she outted his movie star lover in her tab. She loves her brother. Her relationship with her moms is not real close. The actor who plays Don is brilliantly good. He is worth watching the show all by hisself. I love courtney tho. Love the show and looking forward to your brilliant recaps.
