Director Of ‘Cosmopolis’ Says ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Is “Boring” [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale get into character.
Someone finally did it. Someone finally had something bad to say about The Dark Knight Rises.

Film director David Cronenberg had this to say about the crowd favorite in an interview with MTV:

“I don’t think they are making them an elevated art form. I think it’s still Batman running around in a stupid cape. I just don’t think it’s elevated. (Director) Christopher Nolan’s best movie is ‘Memento,’ and that is an interesting movie. I don’t think his Batman movies are half as interesting though they’re 20 million times the expense.”

The director also said that he did respect Nolan’s use of IMAX but besides that aspect, it was “boring”.

Crosenberg was speaking to MTV to promote his new movie, Cosmopolis, staring Robert Pattinson. The movie follows a 28 year old billionaire asset manager riding around Manhattan in a stretch limo, looking for a haircut. Along the way, he meets a cast of characters that begin to tear his world apart. The movie isn’t set to release until May 25th.
