Well done Demi Moore! The actress is looking much healthier and fitter than she has in months.
Demi emerged from post-rehab seclusion to pose for photos in New York on Wednesday night for the GEMS Girls Like Us Benefit Gala. Demi was co-host with Rachel Lloyd, exec director of GEMS, for the party at El Museo Del Barrio.
GEMS (Girls Educational and Mentoring Services), founded in 1998, is devoted to helping sexually exploited and trafficked girls. The event included the reading of excerpts from the February Girls Like Us memoir of Lloyd, read by stars including Jada Pinkett Smith, Natasha Lyonne, and India Arie, reports the Daily Mail.
Moore’s ex, Ashton Kutcher, who was just named No. 1 on Forbes‘ Highest-Paid TV Actors list, has been photographed in public kissing his That ’70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis. People magazine reports in this week’s cover story that Moore, who turns 50 next month, is “jealous and frustrated” by the romance.
The claims of infidelity on Ashton’s part and his very public new relationship have taken their toll on Demi, according to friends.
“What was humiliating was having her husband cheat on her in such a public way,” an insider said. “But once that happened, she has not looked back.”
Ashton’s new love interest looks stunning in her shots for Esquire – which was reportedly difficult for Demi to handle.
“It’s all too much for her. Ashton’s replaced her. Demi has tried her best to move on, but now she feels she’s back at square one again,” a source recently told Heat magazine. “Her confidence was already shattered, and seeing Mila like that has really affected her. Not many women have to deal with their ex’s new girlfriend being branded The World’s Sexiest Woman.”
Hopefully Demi can learn to let go and move on.
