David Beckham Bids Soccer Tearful Farewell

May 19th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

After a 22-year career, internationally-known athlete David Beckham is finally hanging up his soccer cleats after announcing his retirement plans.

The 38-year-old presided as captain over his last professional game game over the weekend in London Paris St Germain as captain and was visibly emotional after the match came to a close.

Providing emotional support from the stands were his wife, Victoria Beckham, and the couple’s four children Romeo, Brooklyn, Cruz and Harper. It was a high note for the soccer star to end his career, with his teammates tossing him in the air in a celebratory gesture and fans rising from their seats in the stadium to give David a standing ovation.

You think this is sad now? Imagine how we’ll all feel when he retires from underwear modeling. That will be a dark day indeed.
