Daniel Radcliffe will receive the Hero Award from the Trevor Project in June, reports the Associated Press.

Since 2009, the Harry Potter star has been actively working with the organization on its suicide prevention efforts among LGBT youths. The Trevor Hero Award recognizes a person who inspires minority youths while increasing visibility and understanding within the community. Past recipients have included Nathan Lane, Dustin Lance Black and Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams.

“The people that are doing the heroic things are the people answering phones 24 hours a day in the Trevor call centers,” Daniel told the AP. “I think that out of everything that I’ve done so far in my career, I think this is absolutely one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I’m associated with.”

Daniel is seen here posing with fans backstage at the Broadway musical production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The actor recently moved to New York City for the show and has been shacking up with his girlfriend downtown.
