We will most probably always remember him as Harry Potter, but Daniel Radcliffe is no longer the little boy we grew up with! The actor opens up to OUT magazine about putting aside the character that made him the star he is today, and sticking it out for the long haul.
The 23-year-old also revealed in an interview that if he had to pick a way to die, it would be on a film set. He said:
I’ve always said that it’s a long process, and in a way it may be a lifelong one. It’s about proving to people that I’m in this for the long haul, and that I wasn’t just looking to get as famous as I could for as long as I could and ride that out. I love almost every aspect of this industry and I want to be in it, and if I could drop dead on a film set at 80, that’s how I’d want to go.
Daniel plays the poet Allen Ginsberg in his new movie Kill Your Darlings, having to act out some gay sex scenes with co-star Dane DeHaan. There was some scrutiny regarding him playing a gay character, but the actor calmly retaliated back by saying, “You never see a gay actor getting asked what it’s like to play straight — to my knowledge, at least, there is no difference in how heterosexual and homosexual people fall in love.”
Daniel admits that up-to-date this is the project that he is most proud of. He will never forget what Harry Potter did for him, but reveals that he can no longer bring himself to watch his early performances. He said: “I certainly wouldn’t watch number three, I wouldn’t watch the first two, I wouldn’t watch four.I might watch five.I definitely wouldn’t watch six.”
