Hurrah! The 2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards Presented By BBC AMERICA took place at the Beverly Hilton last night, and it was magical. Thank heavens for Bond, because Skyfall brought Daniel Craig to the ceremony.
Daniel Day-Lewis, who was honored with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence, brought a chair on stage with him. ”I have to say, I’m so extremely grateful and glad that, taking time out of his very busy schedule, the recently re-elected president of this country was able to make it,” Day-Lewis joked, according to USA Today. “I know as an Englishman it’s absolutely none of my business, but I’m so very grateful that it was you.”
Totes loving Olivia Munn‘s glittery gold gown, and can’t stop looking at Naomie Harris‘s Tiffany & Co. gradual diamond line necklace ($85,000).
BBC America’s Anglophenia live-tweeted from the red carpet, noting that Robert De Niro‘s British accent was spot-on (well, not really, but it sounded entertaining): “Pip pip cheerio!” Argh, where is the footage!
Host Alan Cumming told the audience oh his ensemble, ”My suit is actually recycled from Ann Romney’s dress to show that, even in defeat, there can be beauty.”
Also on the red carpet: Franka Potente, Natasha Henstridge, Lucy Davis, Ioan Gruffud, Kerry Washington, Matt Stone, Trey Parker, Berenice Marlohe, Jessica Sanchez, Kyle Schmid, Rufus Sewell, and Quentin Tarantino.
Watch the Britannia Awards this Sunday (November 11th) @ 7:30 ET on BBC America.
