Colin Farrell treated his son, Henry, 2, to ice cream cone at Baskin-Robbins in Los Angeles, California yesterday, then they headed over to a newsstand where dad bought the little guy a children’s book.
Henry’s mom is actress Alicja Bachleda-Curus. Farrell also has an 8-year-old son, James, who has Angelman Syndrome. “James is doing wonderful,” Farrell told RTE host Miriam O’Callaghan (via the Sun) He has Angelman Syndrome so his journey is — as is everyone’s — unique but his is maybe that bit more.”
“People say having children changes you, doesn’t it? Unfortunately not,” Farrell said. “You can go around the world and see stories where it doesn’t change people. You have to allow it to invite the change in.
So the first three years of James’s life was me going ‘I’m not going to change, I’m just going to be his friend — we’re going to be pals. But that didn’t work out so well. And then based on a couple of life changes I made myself, I thought, ‘Why am I fighting change?’”
