The Sun Military Awards took place at the Imperial War Museum in London tonight, and it reminded us of how fabulous the Duchess of Cambridge looked at last year’s ceremony. Oh, how we long for custom-made McQueen!
Lift your heads up and stiffen that upper lip, for the show must go on! This year’s attendance is looking fantastic. There’s former TOWIE star Mark Wright (get back on the show, man!). Look! Dame Helen Mirren‘s arrived, and I spy British Prime Minister David Cameron.
Their Royal Highnesses Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also RSVP’d yes, and I’m quite liking Camilla’s turquoise jewelry. Earlier today, we finally got a reaction from the Prince of Wales about yet another impending title: Grandfather.
Charles was in Hounslow, West London presenting medals to members of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards. The heir apparent thought Will and Kate’s news was “marvelous,” according to the Daily Mail. Charles added that “it’s a very nice thought to become a grandfather in my old age.
“I’m very glad that my daughter-in-law is getting better, thank goodness,” Charles said of Catherine, who was discharged from King Edward VII hospital in London today.
The prince also alluded to the prank pulled on the hospital by two Australian DJs yesterday.
“How do you know I’m not a radio station?” Charles joked to reporters.
The Sun Military Awards honor members of the British armed forces and civilians involved with the forces.
