Celebrities Starved For Red Carpet Attention Flock To Picketless Critic’s Choice Awards

Everyone and your Mom came out for the Critic’s Choice Awards in Santa Monica yesterday. The awards aren’t covered by writer’s guild contracts, so no one crossed a picket line in attending. Look at Brad’s new shag! Brad Pitt and Angelina were in attendance, as was George Clooney who noted he was able to attend due the event being presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. “I belong to six unions. I wouldn’t cross a picket line,” he said. You know the stars figured this was the only time they would get to go to an awards show this year so they ran to Santa Monica. Big winners included “Hairspray” and “Juno”. “Hairspray”‘s Nikki Blonsky, 19, picked up the award for Best Young Actress and thanked “my mommy who’s sitting here crying and my other mommy who’s at home, John Travolta”. Hmm hmmm. Johnny Trav played a lady a little too well. This might be the only time you see all these people on the red carpet in awhile. The Golden Globes have been reduced to an hour long press conference to announce the winners. So savor these pics!
