Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrived via helicopter in Covilh on May 21, didn’t have a problem being on the cover of Vanity Fair in tight underwear, bless his heart, but he is upset that he had to share the cover with rival player Didier Drogba. The two players have a strong rivalry and will play each other in the opening World Cup match on Jun 15, so if you ask me it’s a brilliant move.
A source told The New York Post that “Ronaldo is freaking out. He says he wants to sue Vanity Fair for using his image to promote the issue everywhere.” Of course they are using the cover shot to promote the issue, it’s pretty standard, so I’m not sure what legal grounds he would sue on. Is it shady that Annie Leibovitz shot him in Madrid and the magazine pieced together a picture of Drogba shot in Milan? Yes. Do you look hot? Yes. Does it also promote a major athletic match up that is important to your career and makes you more money? Yes. So chillax and don’t let this get in the way of your future underwear shots.
