Corrine Bailey Rae’s Husband Found Dead

March 24th, 2008 // 3 Comments

Singer Corrine Bailey Rae’s husband Jason was found dead in his apartment on Saturday in Britain. He was 31, and a drug overdose is thought to be the cause of death. Corrine is known for her 2006 hit, “Put Your Records On”. Jason acted as her manager and toured with her that year. Yikes.

Police arrested another unidentified man in relation to the death, and he was charged with dealing. Jason played the saxophone with the Haggis Horns, who have backed up Amy Crackhouse on tour. It looks like Jason had some issues with drugs in the past.

“He partied a lot and had struggled with drugs for years,” a source said.

Jason and Corrine met at a jazz club and married in 2001 before she got big. Please use your drugs in moderation, folks.

It’s a pity. He looks like a pretty likeable guy and Corinne is a sweetheart. But what the hell, you take your chances in this world. Many, many good people died that same day from causes entirely outside their control.
    To quote Elvis Costello:
“Ah, I send you all my regards
    You’re so tough-
    You’re so hard.
    But listen to them hammers
    Fallin’ in the breaker’s yard.
    You better watch your step.”
